{Real Parties} Colorful Third Birthday

It's been nearly a month, but I have finally gone through the photos from T's Third Birthday party.  Like many parties these days, it was held at a local gymnastics-type place.  Ironically, I planned her party outside the home to reduce any stress of having a party at our house so soon after having a baby.  Little did I know that the baby's baptism would end up being not only the same weekend...but the same DAY. (Sorry guys, those pictures are still going to take a while longer)

Anyway, having the party at the toddler gym was actually a lot of fun.  It forced me to come up with a decor plan that could be both put up and taken down quickly.  It also reduced any stress from trying to come up with activities.  The kids had a blast, and I got to satisfy my desire for decor of some kind with just a little less stress!

Unfortunately, most of my pictures didn't come out all that well, so please accept my apologies for the fuzzy photos.  My beloved 50mm lens broke just a couple of weeks before the party, and I let the husband talk me into trying a new/different lens.  I'm getting used to it, but I still miss my 50mm.

I also purchased a printables package for the first time ever.  In fact, the package was custom made for our little girl by Party Like Paula.  It was a fantastic process, and I would recommend Paula to anyone.  She came up with an entire adorable package just from the description of "gymnastics" and "pink".    Pretty much everything else came from either Target or the Dollar Store.  Easy peasy.

We kept everything really simple.  The party ended up being between 3 and 4:30, so the kids didn't need much more than snack food...no pizza required!  They got to eat the pretzels and cheese balls from the centerpieces, and took home favors of T's favorite frosted animal crackers and sippy cups with hidden snack compartments.  I even had enough time when preparing for the party to make my own cupcakes with pink and white swirled frosting!

In the end, T was happy, I didn't have to worry about converting the house between two parties and everyone had a good time.  It was a great way to start T's fourth year!
